Grant Gustin in Full Flash Costume, Actually Looks Like Flash

Following the head shot of Grant Gustin in a Flash mask, Warner Bros. Television finally released an official photo giving us a full view of the costume, albeit a little obstructed.

Nevertheless, the costume is more faithful to the one we see in the comics as opposed to the hoodie version that appeared in Smallville. It looks pretty good actually. Hit the jump for the full photo.

Seems like the Flash will also be donning the synthetic fiber material or whatever it is called that most superheroes in movies use these days, mixed with leather in some parts. It also appears to be in a darker shade of red. Here's what pilot director David Nutter had to say about the costume, "I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash's iconic suit."

Subsequently, since production for the pilot is ongoing, expect to see lots of set photos to pop up. The Daily Mail has a lot of set photos showing the what the suit looks like without all the post-production touchups and effects.

As what the photos show, the suit looks to be in the same vein as Arrow where the costume is a little loose and not the traditional skin-tight costume superheroes seem to love. However, the iconic yellow belt of the Flash is changed to red, which doesn't give the it much contrast. It actually looks very similar to Ben Affleck's Daredevil costume.

All that said, the suit looks good and actually looks like the Flash we're familiar with.

The pilot for The Flash is written by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and current DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns and directed by David Nutter. The series is based on the DC Comics superhero the Flash (Barry Allen) and set to air on The CW.
