Kotobukiya Superman ARTFX 1/6 Statue

Kotobukiya finally released an ARTFX statue for Superman after success with Batman and The Joker. And it does not disappoint! This is the best Superman statue on the market, and it goes great with Batman.

The statue is based on the art of Jim Lee, specifically the story arc For Tomorrow written by Brian Azarello.

Note: I already took out Superman out of the box in the picture on the right. And I was too lazy to put him back. Hit the jump for the rest of the pictures.

Kotobukiya Batman ARTFX 1/6 Statue (Black Costume Re-release)

Back in 2005, Kotobukiya released a PVC statue of Batman (blue costume) inspired by the art of Jim Lee. It immediately became a hit among collectors. Years later, Kotobukiya released a black costume version of the same statue. And now they re-released the same statue as a companion piece to the recently released Superman ARTFX statue.

Needless to say, it is certainly one of the best Batman statues out there. I think only the Sideshow Batman Premium Format statue comes close.

After the jump comes more pictures.

Heroes of the DC Universe: Green Lantern Hal Jordan Bust (Blackest Night)

Even though the Blackest Night event from DC comics ended a year ago, new products revolving around it continue to come out. For one, DC Direct has just started a Blackest Night line for its Heroes of the DC Universe line of mini-busts. And of course, I got myself the Hal Jordan mini-bust.

"Thor" Classic Version Mini-Bust by Bowen

This is my first collectible for the year 2011 - Bowen's Thor classic version mini-bust. I've been waiting a long time for a new Thor mini-bust to come since the old Bowen Thor bust doesn't come with arms. But now here he is, the God of Thunder!

Bowen Captain America Mini-Bust

I wasn't able to get myself the original Captain America mini-bust from Bowen that was released way before, so I was excited to get this one. Cap finally got the bust revisit he deserved. The original Cap bust was great, but I thought Cap should get a new sculpt with arms. And finally it's here.

More pics after the cut.

Bowen Daredevil Classic Mini-Bust

Daredevil is one of my favorite Marvel characters along with Spider-Man and others. That's why I've been looking for this bust since I started collecting. I'm not into buying online (yet) so it's hard to find old pieces in local comic stores. These things are limited after all. But patience really is a virtue. When I went to a comic book store yesterday I saw this bust there and I immediately bought it!

Bowen Spider-Man Classic Mini-Bust

I got this one for a bargain today, and I've been looking for it for a while now since I'm a Spider-Man fan. Thanks to a forum member for the cheap price of this beautiful bust.

Bowen Symbiote Spider-Man Mini-Bust

After a long time, I finally got a new bust. I've always wanted a new one since my last haul, which was the Iron Spider-Man bust. Yay! This is the Symbiote Spider-Man bust by Bowen. Teril gave me this as a gift. I love her. ^^

I've been looking for this bust ever since I got into collecting statues and busts. This is hard to find actually locally, since it was already released like a year ago. So I really appreciate the trouble Teril went through in purchasing this bust. ^^

As you all know, Spider-Man is my favorite superhero. During the course of his career, he has donned a lot of costumes. And the black suit has been one of the most used and popular suit Spidey has ever used, next to the classic red and blue. Peter wears the suit from time to time (without the symbiote of course. Pete has a spandex version that is super safe from alien harm). The most recent one was in the Spider-Man arc - Back in Black.

Deadpool Mini-Bust by Bowen Designs

Here's what I got today: a Deadpool mini-bust by Bowen (the manufacturer). It's the merc'-with-a-mouth baby!

I got this mini-bust from a fellow forum member. This will be my last haul for a long time since I'm gonna save up more again starting now.

At first he was an X-Men villain, but he has enough charisma that he eventually made it to his own comic book. So now, he's more of an anti-hero than a villain.

He's one of the only characters I know that has broken the fourth wall in comics (along with the Joker), which means Deadpool knows that he's just a comic book character in a comic book.

This bust is limited to 2500 pieces around the world. Well, I got the 1300th piece.

Iron Spider-Man Bust by Diamond Select Toys

From the events of Civil War, it's the Iron Spider-Man mini-bust.

This costume, called the Iron Spider, was given to Peter Parker by Tony Stark. Hence the red and gold color, and also the high-tech-iness of the suit. He only wore this during Civil War. He then disposed of it afterwards when he switched sides to Captain America.

The Mighty Thor Bust by Diamond Select Toys

Behold the Norse God of Thunder, the Mighty Thor.

This is my first Marvel bust from Diamond Select Toys. And for a bust, this one is huge. It's almost as big as my Superman/Batman mini-statues. This Thor bust stands about 5" tall. It's pretty heavy too. Well, I'm not surprised. He's the God of Thunder after all.

Again, I'm not a fan of Thor. But this bust is so beautiful that it made me appreciate him more. So now I like Thor much more. :P

Here are the pictures. You can click the images for a high-res one.

Thou shalt not dare insult the mighty might of Thor. Bow down peasants!

1/7 Silver Surfer Statue By Bowen Designs

Behold the herald of Galactus, the Silver Surfer.

I'm not really a fan of Silver Surfer but this statue really got into me. And now I learned to appreciate the Silver Surfer more because of this statue. The first time I saw it I was already tempted to buy it right then. But I had no money so I came back a week later and finally got it.

The whole statue (including the base) stands more than 12" tall.

Yeah, look at my ass baby.

Green Lantern Alan Scott Mini-Bust

Today I got to buy the Alan Scott Mini-Bust with his power ring replica.

A bust is the same as a statue but only features the upper body of the character. Busts stand about 4-5 inches tall and has the same quality as a full statue. And it's much cheaper than statues. They cost around 2-3k PHP, while statues cost more than 5k PHP.

The back of the box.

To assure that it's not a recast (fake), it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the manufacturer.

This is Alan Scott, the first Green Lantern there ever is on Earth. See? Not all Green Lanterns wear a green costume. He wanted to be...uhh...different.

The bust comes with a replica of Alan Scott's power ring.

Which means that you can wear it, and become a Green Lantern yourself (minus the powers, unless you got a real one).

Alan Scott looks good with Hal Jordan.
