In 2004, Thomas Jane starred in the movie The Punisher based on the character of the same name. However, it wasn't as well-received as the other Marvel movies because of its poor script even though Jane gave a great performance. Now he returns in a fan film that sort of serves as a "sequel", titled Dirty Laundry.
Directed by Phil Joanou, Thomas Jane stars as Frank Castle/Punisher when he witnesses a gang harrasing citizens in the street while he does his laundry. Ron Perlman (Hellboy) also stars as a handicapped store owner.
In the YouTube page's description, Thomas Jane is quoted as saying, "I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it."
Now that Marvel Studios has got the rights back, and seeing that The Punisher and Punisher: War Zone didn't do so well on the big screen, maybe they'd consider doing it in a smaller scale. I think Punisher would be better interpreted in a TV series or webseries instead of a movie. The Punisher is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and I hope to see more of him in live-action form.
