My thoughts on all things pop culture - comic books, movies, music, TV, collectibles.

Real Iron Man
With The Avengers movie out, I've been seeing a lot of Avengers-related stuff in my news feed on Facebook. However, one thing really caught my eye - a cosplay video of Iron Man. So what's so special about it? There are lots of cosplayers of Iron Man out there at conventions, but this video is special. This guy actually created a mechanical Iron Man suit! It's awesome!

Street Fighter X Tekken - Thoughts and Comments
To fighting game players, a crossover game between Street Fighter and Tekken is never going to happen. Both of these games are fighting games, but they fall in two different subcategories of the genre. Street Fighter is a 2D fighting game, meaning the characters only move in a 2-dimensional plane. On the other hand, Tekken is a 3D fighting game. As the name suggests, the characters in Tekken can move freely in a 3-dimensional plane where they can do sidesteps. These games play very much differently to even consider creating a crossover game with these two franchises.
However, in San Diego Comic-Con 2010, Yoshinori Ono, the producer of Street Fighter IV, announced Street Fighter X Tekken. The game was finally released in early March 2012, to many fighting gamers' anticipation. Two of the biggest fighting game franchises going against each other is now a reality.

Classic Marvel Figurine Collection Special: M.O.D.O.K.
Although that webseries gave him some decent exposure to casual readers, I think being included in the cast of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 gave him a boost in popularity. It's surprising to see him get included in the game, but I think Marvel wanted him there.
Anyway hit the jump to see the pictures.
Classic Marvel Figurine Collection #164: Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell)
I didn't get the first Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) lead figurine Eaglemoss released a few years ago because I'm not familiar with that version of him. And I was actually wondering why they chose him for the Captain Marvel figurine. But after a long wait, fans of the most well-known Captain Marvel in the Marvel universe will rejoice now that Eaglemoss has finally released Mar-Vell. I was actually waiting for this one, too.
Now my Marvel cosmic characters Black Bolt, Gladiator, Thanos, Galactus, and Beta Ray Bill will have another friend to be displayed beside them. Hit the jump to see the pictures.

New "Amazing Spider-Man" Game Trailer Looks Fun
It's been a while since I got pretty excited for a new Spider-Man game. I skipped "Shattered Dimensions" and "Edge of Time" because it didn't look good to me. However, Beenox, the same developer of those two games I mentioned, is now making this Spider-Man based on the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man" reboot movie.

Review: Green Lantern Corps #1
Writer: Peter J. Tomasi
Artist: Fernando Pasarin, Scott Hanna
It was disappointing that Peter J. Tomasi's run in "Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors" was just so-so considering his run on the previous "Green Lantern Corps" was a very fun read. He understood the GLC, giving each member their time to shine whenever possible, complete with interesting stories.
I actually liked Tony Bedard's run on "Green Lantern Corps" more than Tomasi's. But it's interesting to see Tomasi back on the title and see what his plans are now that Kyle Rayner is out of the book.

Review: Batman #1

Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion
Green Lantern titles are the only comic books I read in DC Comics. I get a few collected editions DC's big events from time to time. But when DC announced they will relaunch everything in their line-up, I thought it would be a perfect jumping on point to other titles.
I always wanted to get into Batman, as he's probably the only other superhero I care about in the DC Universe. And with this "New 52" relaunch, I'm sure glad I picked this title up.

Review: Green Lantern #1
Writer: Geoff JohnsArtist: Doug Mahnke
Based from the past interviews and statements from DC, only the Batman and Green Lantern books are left unchanged in "The New 52." As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This first issue is a direct continuation of Johns' recent "Green Lantern" run. The status quo is all the same. It really feels like it should have been "Green Lantern" #68, but instead we get a #1 issue with a fresh start from all the chaotic madness from the recent stories.

"Street Fighter X Tekken" TGS 2011 Trailer
Capcom has released a new CGI trailer for their upcoming crossover fighting game, "Street Fighter X Tekken," pitting two of the best fighting game franchises against each other.
In this trailer, we see Rufus (so I guess he's confirmed) fighting against another big-bodied character, Bob. We also see a previously revealed character, Zangief, here. Lastly, a Tekken character is teased at the end of the video.

Justice League #1
Writer: Geoff JohnsArtist: Jim Lee, Scott Williams
Well, it's finally here. The first title to debut from DC's much talked-about line-wide relaunch is now here with Justice League #1. And since it's out, it has gained a lot of attention. I have friends talking about it, wanting to reserve a copy in the local comic book store. Was it able to live up to the hype? Will new readers want this? Is it a good introduction into the new world of DCU?
